Is there any problem music cannot solve?

1. Problem: My boss hates me, probably because he's realised I have no idea what I'm doing.

Solution: Listen to Belle and Sebastian's Boy with the Arab Strap as soon as you are out of the building. Possibly do a little dance in the car park.

2. Problem: Neighbours anger me for no good reason, mostly because they have terrible taste in music and tend to bang their door late at night a lot.

Solution: Put The Jesus Mary Chain's What Do You Want if You Don't Want Love? on repeat as loud as the incredibly costly stereo will go and open the balcony doors.

3. Problem: Trying to resist the temptation to blog about work, lest you cry like a bitch.

Solution: Blog about music instead. While also listening to music. Brilliant.

Nice one Kate...nice to mention my portfolio as well :P

Any insider tips welcome.

Hehe, my number one piece of advice is not to listen to my dodging analysis...

Jesus and Mary Chain? Are you sure it's your neighbours with the bad taste in music???

He-ey, JMC are bloody great when they're on form - you just need to ignore the odd pile of crud.

Sigh. I was hoping for some vitriolic reply defending the beauty of boring English music.
Did you see Control yet? It's on the Double at Luna with a Joe Strummer doco in a few weeks.

I'm mellowing in my old age, chairbreaker. But JMC are great - tell me who you are and I'll burn you a 'best of' to shove them down your throat.

And no, no I STILL haven't seen Control and this pains me, particularly as Sam Riley has made Ian Curtis about ten times more attractive than he was. If anyone (er someone I know, not um one of a very small handful of readers I've never met, no offence) wants to see it let me know - for some reason everybody I've tried to enthuse gets a glazed look in their eyes and I'm not sure if I'm ready to be all happy-to-see-movies-alone...

And a double with Strummer sounds potentially awesome.

I'm down for the movie - I think it would be very interesting to see despite the fact that I think Joy Division blow.

On my JMC "best of" you could easily squeeze on some Joy Division as well and then after I've listened to that two-tracker I can smash it and use it to slit my wrists

JD blow, eh? You're killing me, just killing me. Sweet, assuming you're somebody I actually know and like (well...) let's do it, on the condition that you admit JD are, in fact, rather good - I've been waiting for this puppy for far too long - email me and we'll tee it up.
